Summary
Conducting research and development activities for subsequent application in manufacturing processes contracted to Nanosyn.
Purpose of Job
To develop chemical processes and ensure their execution in a timely and safe manner. To assume the responsibilities of Project Manager as assigned.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directing and overseeing the activities of direct reports
- Conducting research and development activities in organic chemistry
- Design and execution of scalable processes
- Assisting in preparation of project proposals and quotations
- Supervising and/or participating in cGMP or non-GMP manufacture
- Providing technical review of executed batch records
- Acting as Project Manager, when assigned
- Performing literature search
- Writing and reviewing technical reports
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records
- Assisting in batch production record preparation
- Understanding of and compliance with appropriate SOPs
- Ensuring safety and cleanliness of laboratory work areas
- Helping create a positive work environment
- Other reasonable duties, as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision of R&D Chemist
Qualification Requirements:
- Advanced degree in organic chemistry
- cGMP experience preferred
- Be able to work as a team member and a team leader
- Good communication skills
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Ability to safely handle hazardous materials
- Ability to move/lift 50 pounds
- Ability to safely handle large glassware
- Ability to wear respirator
- Ability to bend to reach floor level
